It is known that theatres were under shutdown due to Covid-19 pandemic. Films like Penguin, V, Nishabdam were directly released in OTT platforms. Whereas films like Red and Uppena are still holding strong for theatrical release.
Finally, Government gave permission for the reopening of theatres but with limited occupancies. But it is unlikely that audience will turn up to theatres as Covid-19 has not eased yet. Or will they wait for few more months to wait for things to settle down even more? Or will they give up and go for OTT release? Only time can tell.
