Thalapathy Vijay is currently enjoying the purple patch in his film career. He is one of the biggest stars in India right now. His movies witness copious collections at box office. Therefore his remuneration too weighs the same.
As per sources, currently Vijay is charging around 60 crores as remuneration for every movie. This is humongous and one of the highest among south Indian actors.
But the Covid-19 was broke out not only to test the immunity of people, but also to test the generosity. As the theatres were shut down and shootings got paused, the producers are having nightmares regarding budget. Also there will be a steep fall in revenues in the coming years. So it will be risky for producers to invest more in the movies.
Understanding this scenario, Vijay proved his generosity by reducing his remuneration. He has decided to cut around 20 crores in his remuneration for all the projects he does in the coming 2 years. This will help the producers a bit. In Telugu Industry, we saw Allu Arjun did the same. Hopefully other actors too show their mercy on producers by slashing down their remunerations.
Currently Vijay is waiting for 'Master' to get released, which was helmed by Lokesh Kanakaraj. He will soon join hands with A.R Muragadoss for fourth film in their combination.
